Honey from the Bee - ETT SOTW

The new ETT SOTW is Honey from the Bee, owned and operated by fellow etsy twitter team member Janet. Janet makes exquisite jewelry (inspired by nature and travel) that includes earrings, brooches, bracelets and necklaces, most of which are one-of-a-kind! No wonder her customers often feel she's created a piece "just for them."

Janet describes her process and materials ..."I love gemstones for color and pattern. I love metals like silver, copper, brass and bronze for how I can manipulate it into a wearble piece of art. I love incorporating found objects and vintage parts for the patina and stories they have within them. Quality means a lot to me. It's in my nature to do so, but it's also because it's what annoys me most about the products for sale in many stores today. I take care to insure you'll get lots of wear out of the piece that spoke to you and it will have value to another some day down the road, too."
I would love to pass on either of these beauties to a daughter-in-law some day! To my son...Hint, hint!

Inspiration ~ other artisans

clockwise from top left:
crochet cowl from soft spoken

I am not just a seller on etsy. I am a buyer. I actually discovered the site two years ago when I began to use handmade soap and bath products. Google searches for these items kept directing me to etsy where I discovered vintage dealers, talented and affordable artisans and supplies for my own jewelry-making (as well as the soap I was actually looking for!). Since then I have opened my own shop on etsy but I continue to find wonderful things to buy for myself and to give as gifts. Here are my four latest purchases and I have now extended my etsy "family" with new sellers with amazing shops who are also delightful to deal with!

that's Headley ~ ETT Shop of the Week

Ginny Headley Maserang, of that’s Headley!, creates artisan jewelry. Her shop features bracelets, necklaces, earrings, jewelry for special occasions and holidays, and has a unisex section. Proceeds from the sale of items in her shop's “Hope for Whirled Peas” section benefit Fisher Houses. (For more information about this fundraising effort, please see the listings.)

Her creative inspiration most often comes "from the beautiful materials I work with - I've loved pretty rocks since I was a little girl, and nothing pleases me more than to pull all my treasures out like a glittering box of crayons and have them tell me what they want to be. I love, too, the color combinations in nature, and can't keep myself from looking at a sunset or garden and imagining the colors coming together as a work of wearable art.”

She also has an etsy shop for vintage goodies called ginny's Veranda.
