Opinions Please!
I have noticed more and more on etsy (the wonderful online shopping site for handmade, vintage and craft supplies) where I have my jewelry shop, threepeats, that the "background" of choice for most item photos is bright white. Items photographed this way make it to the front page and treasuries more often. I have gotten gentle suggestions from etsy teammates to try it and so I have.
Let me start by saying that I like the natural stone background I have been shooting my jewelry against. In my mind, it "fits" the philosophy of my shop - that I recycle vintage materials into modern pieces. But I am willing to change with the times (although re-taking more than 500 pictures will take some time). So, readers, I'd appreciate your take on this. Please leave a comment on this post and tell me whether you prefer the white background or the stone background for my Jumping Through Hoops Dangle Earrings. Tell me why if you have some more time!

The New ETT SOTW is MOI!
The new Etsy Twitter team SOTW is threepeats Jewelry...me! More important, to celebrate, I am having an "earring clearing" in my shop. Every pair of unique, eco-friendly, dangle earrings for pierced ears is just $5 this week (10/24-10/30). The earrings, made with contemporary, hypoallergenic findings and recycled vintage beads are usually $7 - $10 a pair. They've already been marked down and grouped together in one SOTW SALE section in the shop. Stock up on stocking stuffers or treat yourself to a small treat! Romance or drama, bohemian or neo-classical, bright colors or subtle shades...there's something for everyone! While they last, that is!

Honey from the Bee - ETT SOTW
The new ETT SOTW is Honey from the Bee, owned and operated by fellow etsy twitter team member Janet. Janet makes exquisite jewelry (inspired by nature and travel) that includes earrings, brooches, bracelets and necklaces, most of which are one-of-a-kind! No wonder her customers often feel she's created a piece "just for them."
Janet describes her process and materials ..."I love gemstones for color and pattern. I love metals like silver, copper, brass and bronze for how I can manipulate it into a wearble piece of art. I love incorporating found objects and vintage parts for the patina and stories they have within them. Quality means a lot to me. It's in my nature to do so, but it's also because it's what annoys me most about the products for sale in many stores today. I take care to insure you'll get lots of wear out of the piece that spoke to you and it will have value to another some day down the road, too."
I would love to pass on either of these beauties to a daughter-in-law some day! To my son...Hint, hint!
